Agriculturist believe that the blue laced red wyandotte chicken was formed by as a result of cross-breeding between Brahmas chicken breed and photo-bird. Though the exact parental breed of the blue laced red wyandotte chicken is not known some agriculturist also believe that silver spangled Hamburg and polish chicken can be the parental breeds of the blue laced red wyandotte chicken.

 Appearance:

The blue laced red wyandotte chicken is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful members of the wyandotte chicken group. They possess a quite wide and strong body. The entire body of the blue laced red wyandotte chicken is covered with dense feathers and also have curves on their back.

Their eyes are reddish bay in colour. They have short yellow legs. The beak is also slightly yellowish. Like other chicken breeds, their comb and ear lobes are brick red. Their lower limbs are feather free. They have four toes per foot.

Weight:

Rooster of this breed weighs about 8 to 8.5 pounds which is around 3.8 kg and the hen of this breed weighs about 6 to 6.5 pounds which is around 2.5 kg.

As we have earlier discussed the main purpose for the production of the blue laced red wyandotte chicken was to get a good amount of eggs every year. The hen of this breed lays about 5 to 6 eggs every week which means around 200 eggs every year which is quite a good amount.

The blue laced red wyandotte hens lay very beautiful light to medium brown coloured eggs almost every day. Like the size of their bodies the size of their eggs are also medium. 

Behaviour:

The hens of the blue laced red wyandotte chicken are very docile even the rooster is not very aggressive. They love to move freely and do not like to be picked. The hens of the blue laced red wyandotte chicken breed are broody and also loves to sit on their eggs thus, proving themselves to be good mothers for their chicks.

As their body is covered with feathers they can shake off cold weathers quite easily. They can tolerate harsh heat but only up to a certain limit. Like other common chicken breeds, the average life span of the blue laced red wyandotte chicken is about 6-10 years.
